We're Mainers now. Our house in Georgia sold yesterday. Yes, we are relieved to sell after only 2 months on the market. And we both felt the same sadness at the closing of that chapter. Now we can concentrate on making this house as loved as Pointer's Ridge.
The lumber company just delivered our new French doors to replace the ones we don't think will make it through the winter (rotten. We knew that would be the first big project.) The doors and casement windows that look out onto the marsh are original to the 1971 house, so the new ones will be much more energy efficient.
The early nor'easter has tamped down the reeds that separate the marsh from the yard and it really does look like we're a part of it! Very cool.
